Transport
Rail terminus, freeway, and the shortest airport run in the north west.
Sunbury's connectivity is one of the genuine reasons buyers look here. These are the connections that exist today.
Sunbury station (Sunbury line terminus, plus Bendigo V/Line)
Sunbury is the terminus of the metropolitan Sunbury line, with Bendigo V/Line services also calling at the station. Commuters on the eastern side of the township drive or bus in to the station.
Calder Freeway (M79) south of Sunbury
The Calder Freeway runs south of Sunbury and is the main road connection to the Tullamarine corridor and the CBD. Sunbury Road links the township south east toward Bulla and the airport.
Melbourne Airport, about 16 km
One of the shortest airport runs of any Melbourne growth area. The airport precinct is also a significant employer for Sunbury households.
Future road upgrades
Road upgrades around Sunbury are delivered progressively as the approved precincts build out. No road works are committed to serve an eastern precinct, because no eastern precinct exists.
